Other Brands Of Tox
Mountain West Medical Services

Neuromodulators—commonly known as “Botox” or the slang "Tox"—are injectable treatments that temporarily relax the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles. By reducing muscle contraction, these treatments smooth lines in areas such as the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes.
Today there are several FDA-approved neuromodulator brands available. While all work in a similar way, each product has subtle differences in formulation, diffusion, onset time, and duration.
At Mountain West Medical Aesthetics, we offer a variety of options so treatments can be tailored to each patient’s goals.
Don't forget to ask about our Tox membership. For $125 a month, you can get up to 60 units per treatment up to four times a year! In addition to this, all of our members get 10% off of every product and service as well as a free hydrafacial in their birthday month.
What are the other options to Botox?
Botox®
The Most Recognized Neuromodulator
Botox® Cosmetic was the first FDA-approved neuromodulator for aesthetic use and remains the most widely recognized brand.
Botox works by blocking nerve signals to targeted facial muscles, allowing wrinkles to soften and preventing deeper lines from forming over time.
Botox is often chosen for its long track record, predictable results, and extensive safety data.
Typical characteristics:
• Onset: 3–5 days
• Full results: 7–14 days
• Duration: about 3–4 months
• Highly studied with decades of clinical use
Botox is often ideal for patients looking for a reliable and well-established treatment option.
Dysport®
A Faster-Acting Option
Dysport is another FDA-approved neuromodulator that works similarly to Botox but has a slightly different protein structure.
Many patients notice that Dysport begins working a bit faster and spreads slightly more within treated areas. This can make it especially helpful for larger areas such as the forehead.
Typical characteristics:
• Onset: often 2–3 days
• Full results: about 7 days
• Duration: about 3–4 months
• Slightly broader diffusion pattern
Dysport can be a good choice for patients looking for faster onset or treatment of larger areas.
Xeomin®
A “Naked” Neurotoxin
Xeomin is unique because it contains only the active botulinum toxin molecule without accessory proteins. Because of this, it is sometimes referred to as a “naked toxin.”
The absence of additional proteins may reduce the likelihood of developing resistance over time, although this is uncommon with any neuromodulator.
Typical characteristics:
• Onset: 3–5 days
• Full results: about 7–14 days
• Duration: about 3–4 months
• Purified formulation without accessory proteins
Xeomin is often selected by patients who prefer a simplified formulation.
Daxxify®
A Precise Neuromodulator
Daxxify is one of the newest neuromodulators available and is designed to be more precise than traditional toxin treatments.
It uses a peptide stabilizing technology that encourages the medication to be quickly absorbed, thus preventing spread and migration.
Typical characteristics:
• Onset: about 2–4 days
• Duration: often 3 months or longer in many patients
• Designed for precision
Daxxify may be ideal for patients who need precise placement.
Jeuveau®
A Modern Neuromodulator Designed for Aesthetics
Jeuveau is sometimes called “Newtox” because it was developed specifically for aesthetic use rather than medical indications.
It works very similarly to Botox and is commonly used for treating frown lines between the eyebrows.
Typical characteristics:
• Onset: about 2–3 days
• Full results: about 7 days
• Duration: about 3–4 months
• Designed specifically for cosmetic treatments
Jeuveau is often chosen by patients looking for a modern aesthetic-focused option.
Letybo®
A New FDA-Approved Neuromodulator
Letybo is one of the newest botulinum toxin products approved for cosmetic use. It has been widely used internationally and is now available in the United States.
Early studies suggest results comparable to other neuromodulators, providing another effective option for wrinkle treatment.
Typical characteristics:
• Onset: about 3–5 days
• Duration: about 3–4 months
• Similar performance to other neuromodulators
Letybo expands the available choices for patients and allows providers to customize treatments based on individual needs.
Which Neuromodulator Is Best?
All neuromodulators work in a similar way—relaxing targeted muscles to soften wrinkles.
The best option often depends on:
• Treatment area
• Desired longevity
• How quickly results are desired
• Individual muscle patterns
• Previous response to treatment
